Marion County news, Florida news.

A Florida woman died after she stole a sheriff deputy’s patrol car and drove it head-on into oncoming traffic killing two innocent people Thursday.

“This moron stole a police vehicle and killed two human beings,” Marion County Sheriff Bill Woods said.

Kendra Boone, 33, first tried to steal an elderly woman’s keys at a Silver Springs shopping center around 2 p.m.

Boone managed to jump into a responding deputy’s patrol car after he briefly stepped out of the vehicle.

Boone collided with a black pickup truck carrying three people; two of them, aged 73 and 72 years old, were killed in the crash along with her.

Sheriff Woods admitted that he felt a “sheer panic” upon learning a department’s patrol car was stolen.

“We know what’s in the vehicle. There’s a long rifle in there. The moment she did that she was a threat to human life – a threat for merely getting in that car,” he said.

“Think about that for a minute. What do citizens think when they see blue lights coming down the road? They think it’s a good person – not an a—hole like this.”
