Prague news, Oklahoma news.

A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted Oklahoma and was felt across at least five states throughout the Southern Plains late Friday.

The United States Geological Survey said that the tremor struck near the town of Prague, about 57 miles east of Oklahoma City at 11:34 p.m. CT.

The quake’s epicenter was 4.9 miles northwest of Prague, where the tremor was widely felt. What made the shaking feel even stronger was the “shallow” status of the quake which didn’t exceed 1.8 miles in depth.

Residents took to social media to report seeing their walls cracking and hearing what sounded like thunder as the ground shook beneath them.
