3 shot dead at south Arlington apartment complex

A shooting at a south Arlington apartment complex late Thursday has left three people dead, authorities said.

Officers responded to reports of the shooting at the Chatham Green Village complex at around 8:30 p.m.

A tipster called 911 saying that he found a deceased man outside of an apartment after he went to investigate a noise he had heard.

The witness added that he found the apartment’s door kicked open.

  • Officers pronounced the three victims dead at the scene: the male victim reported by the tipster, and a man and a woman discovered inside the apartment.

    Authorities said two children were found unharmed at the apartment. They have since been released to family.

    The victims’ identities and their manner of death remain undetermined.

    “We are still working to identify the victims. At this time, it’s unclear how they’re connected,” Police spokesperson Tim Ciesco said.

    Witnesses reported spotting a man running from the scene.
