Edenton news, North Carolina news.

The body of a North Carolina student was found in the trunk of a towed vehicle last week, authorities said.

On January 17, a woman’s body was found in the trunk of a car that was towed off a private company lot.

The body was later identified as 19-year-old Elizabeth City State University sophomore Amarriah Smith.

While a cause of death remains pending, investigators believe the victim was killed in a separate location before her body was left in the car.
