A fatal shooting at a north Philadelphia home operating as an illegal speakeasy left two people dead and four others hurt early Sunday.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting in a home in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood at around 1 a.m., Capt. Christopher Bradshaw said.
The official said that one of the two slain victims was found dead at the scene with a gunshot wound in the head.
The other, a 42-year-old was shot in the chest and thigh. He succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Bradshaw said an injured 42-year-old man was brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound in the hand.
Three other people suffered injuries and arrived at area hospitals in private cars. They were identified as two women, aged 33 and 22, and a 28-year-old man.
Police believed the shooter(s) opened fire from the street into the home’s front door and window.
Brashaw said no arrests were made in connection with the incident and a motive has yet to be determined.
