Former President Donald Trump nixed some of his planned events this weekend due to blizzard conditions he described as the “worst weather in recorded history.”
Trump’s team put out an “adjusted schedule” for his political events “out of an abundance of caution amid severe weather advisories.”
Among the ditched events, were a planned rally for Sioux City Iowa, and an in-person rally in Cherokee. Trump is expected to hold at least two “telerallies” this weekend.
“One way or another I’m getting there,” Trump told his Iowa supporters in a video message from his balmy West Palm Beach residence.
“You have the worst weather, I guess, in recorded history. But maybe that’s good, because our people are more committed than anybody else, so maybe it’s actually a good thing.”
The former President promised to meet with his supporters in Iowa on Sunday and Monday as he plans to fly into Des Moines late Saturday.
About the trip, Trump said: “It’s going to be a little bit of a trek. Nobody knows exactly how we’re going to get there.”
