A California teen was charged as a juvenile with four counts of murder on Thursday in connection to the massacre of his next-door neighbors.
The 17-year-old suspect, identified in court as R.I., is accused of killing four neighbors: Billy Bond, 81; Darrell Bond, 61; Guadalupe Bond, 44; and Matthew Bond, 43.
Three victims were discovered in the backyard of their home Saturday, including one that was in a shallow grave.
Police said that Matthew Bond’s body was discovered in a detached garage at the teen’s home on Tuesday.
While an official motive for the slayings remains undisclosed; detectives revealed that money and guns were stolen from a safe inside the victims’ home.
The teen’s mom, Brynn Curtis, and her boyfriend, Rafael Gonzalez, were also charged in the case with being accessories after the fact.
“We know there are other people possibly involved in this,” Reedley Police Chief Joe Garza said.
“My belief is the 17-year-old did not commit this on his own. So we are actively searching for other suspects, other people with information that may know what occurred, may have direct information on what occurred.”
Garza added that the victims suffered “substantial, violent wound injuries.”
