Maine teen, 19, dies after electrocution incident involving downed power line

A Maine teen is dead following an electrocution incident involving a downed power line in rural Frenchville Friday.

The deadly incident occurred after a single-vehicle crash at around 12:10 a.m. on Airport Avenue.

The victim, 19-year-old Curtis Levesque, and a 20-year-old man were riding a pickup that lost control and slammed into a utility pole knocking down power lines.

  • The two men got out of the vehicle and Levesque inadvertently tripped over a downed power line and was tragically electrocuted.

    The other man suffered injuries trying to help Levesque. He was taken to Northern Maine Medical Center.

    Investigators believe speed and icy conditions triggered the crash.
