A Colorado deputy died this week in a head-on crash on his way to work leaving his colleagues in grief.
Adams County Sheriff’s Deputy 31-year-old Joshua Maloy was killed in a crash on Dec. 24 while reporting for duty.
The Christmas Eve crash occurred on Weld County Road 49 when a Toyota Tundra crossed the median and crashed into his Toyota Tacoma.
Maloy, who was reportedly wearing his seatbelt, died at the scene. The occupants of the other car survived the accident.
The fallen deputy served with the sheriff’s office for two years and nine months before his tragic demise.
Maloy was also a nine-year U.S. Marine veteran, the department said.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected by this devastating incident,” the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
