Teen brothers’ fight over Christmas gifts ends with murder of older sister in Florida

A Florida woman was killed by her teenage brother Sunday when a fight over Christmas gifts erupted at their grandmother’s home.

Police said that Abrielle Baldwin, 23, was shot by her 14-year-old brother who was upset his 15-year-old sibling was getting more gifts.

The teens’ fight started at the shopping center and continued at the grandmother’s home before Baldwin tried to separate her teen siblings.

  • “So they had this family spat about who was getting what and what money was being spent on who,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said.

    The 14-year-old produced a .40 caliber handgun and fatally shot his sister in the chest. The woman’s 10-month-old son was in a carrier and was not hurt.

    Following the shooting, the 15-year-old sibling retrieved a .46 caliber handgun and shot his younger brother.

    The injured teen is expected to survive. The 15-year-old was arrested on attempted first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
