A Florida man was charged with murder Saturday after he told cops “I just killed my brother” as they arrived to investigate suspicious statements he made to acquaintances.
When Large Police officers arrived at Joshua Robert Brinkley’s home at around 12:47 a.m., the 41-year-old man was leaving in his car.
Brinkley stopped upon spotting the officers and hopped out of the car, hands in the air, and told them that he “just killed” his brother in his house.
Officers found a victim dead with gunshot wounds. The person’s identity was not made public.
Authorities said that after he was taken to the police department, Brinkley attacked and kicked a detective causing minor injuries.
The suspect was charged with first-degree murder and battery on a law enforcement officer.
