Authorities in Atlanta said the shooting that claimed lives late Saturday afternoon was related to drug activity.
Three people were fatally shot and a fourth injured inside an apartment in the Buckhead neighborhood shortly before 6:30 p.m.
“This wasn’t a home invasion type of scenario. We believe that the perpetrators were invited in for that drug exchange. It was some type of drug transaction that was taking place inside the apartment,” said Maj. Peter Malecki.
Police revealed that the three victims were in their 20s and all were pronounced dead inside the 11th- floor apartment. The injured victim was taken to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
“We did recover a couple of handguns on the scene, but again, we still have testing to do to see which weapons were involved in what part,” Malecki added.
