Kansas boy, 9, dies days after crash involving drunken driver

A Kansas boy has succumbed to wounds he sustained in a crash involving a drunken driver earlier this month, local news outlets said.

9-year-old Nolan Davidson has been in a medically induced coma since Dec. 1 when a drunken driver crashed into his family’s car while they headed to a basketball game.

The boy suffered severe wounds including several fractures to his head and significant brain swelling. He passed away from his injuries on Thursday.

  • “It is with much sorrow that our family announces the passing of Nolan Davidson. Nolan was surrounded by the love of close family members at the time of his passing,” the family said in an online statement.

    Nolan was a student at Christa McAullife Elementary where he was remembered as a bright child with a kind heart.

    “Our family is hurting but we are finding comfort knowing that Nolan’s spirit left this earth and entered into a life of eternity in heaven. We have also chosen Nolan as a

    “Hero Donor” in hopes that he can provide a miracle for somebody else in need,” the family added.
