A Gilbert, Arizona boy was found drowned in a pool at his family’s home Monday, authorities said.
First responders with the Gilbert Fire and Police departments rushed to the home near Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads over reports of a drowning at around 2:30 p.m.
The one-and-a-half victim was discovered in the backyard pool. He was pulled out of the pool and given CPR but he died at a local hospital.
The following day, investigators released an update regarding the toddler’s death.
It was determined that the boy had crawled through a dog door before falling into the unfenced pool.
Authorities did not specify how long he remained in the water. The investigation into the tragic incident continues.
