A New York City man is behind bars after he confessed to a gruesome massacre he perpetrated in the early hours of Sunday.
Jayden Rivera, 19, told doctors at the psychiatric ward of Westchester Medical Center that he “did something bad and that he had killed somebody,” police said.
The teen showed up at his mother’s Bronx apartment at around 6:30 a.m. covered in blood and admitted that he was “hearing voices” while babysitting his half-brother, 5-year-old Kayden Rivera.
Police said that little Kayden was stabbed multiple times to the point that he was “disemboweled.”
The couple was also killed once they arrived at the Mott Haven apartment after a “paint and sip” date.
They were identified as 38-year-old Johnathan Rivera, the suspect’s father, and his girlfriend and Kayden’s mom, Hanoi Peralta, 33.
“It appears that after they were stabbed, the victims were beaten with [a] pot to the point that it was dented,” police said.
