A Georgia mom-of-5 was gunned down by her husband in front of their younger child on Tuesday, hours before he was killed by police.
Vennessa Phillips, 35, was shot dead outside her Sharpsburg home on Tuesday evening after an argument. The couple’s 4-year-old daughter witnessed the shooting.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation launched a search for Vennessa’s husband, Dustin Phillips. Dustin eventually returned to the home Wednesday night and exchanged fire with police before he was fatally struck.
Family members revealed Vennessa complained of mental and physical abuse at the hands of her husband.
“She didn’t want to give up on him. She’d given him so many chances because she had such a hopeful heart,” the victim’s brother said.
