An Albuquerque police cadet was tragically killed in a domestic violence incident Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
32-year-old Taylor Hagan was fatally shot by her 41-year-old husband Briton Hagan who then turned the gun on himself.
Taylor was 17 weeks into the 26-week course, training to become an Albuquerque Police officer when her life was cut short.

“Taylor was working hard to meet the challenges of becoming an APD officer,” said Police Chief Medina said.
“She chose to serve the community as a police officer and keep the community safe.”
“My sincere condolences go out to her family and loved ones on behalf of the entire APD family.”
