Authorities in New York are investigating a grisly discovery on a Rockaways beach after a headless human body with no arms washed up there Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to the scene at Breezy Point Beach after someone reported finding a human body with no head and no arms lying on the sand.
The Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner also responded to the scene. The decedent’s identity will not be made public until the family is notified, the NYPD said.
The grim discovery came two weeks after a gifted Irish filmmaker went missing while biking at Fort Tilden Beach, just three miles from Breezy Point Beach.
Ross McDonnell left his Brooklyn home on the evening of November 4 and never returned. He was last spotted at Fort Tilden Beach near Roxbury.
His bike was found nearby three days after his disappearance, locked up. A friend of McDonnell told Irish media that the Emmy award winner “went out into the ocean” and vanished.
