2 brothers found dead in Alabama days after vanishing over night

Authorities in Haleyville, Alabama are investigating how two brothers went missing before they were found dead on Wednesday.

Braxton Thomas, 30, and Rico Tannehill, 28, vanished overnight Sunday and were last seen driving in Haleyville.

Thomas’ wife said she called her teen son Monday morning to ask whether his father was home when he left and the son said he was not.

  • “It was very unusual that he would up and leave in the middle of the night and not tell me because he tells me everything,” Thomas’ wife said.

    The concerned woman called both siblings and got no answers before calling the police.

    Winston County authorities found the brothers dead on Wednesday and alerted the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.

    The cause and manner of death were not immediately made public.
