A San Jose Police officer was fired from the job this week after an investigation exposed “disgusting” racist text messages he exchanged with an employee of the department who was placed on administrative leave.

Former officer Mark McNamara, who was involved in a police-related shooting of a Black man in 2022, stated in the messages “I hate Black people” and used racial expressions multiple times.
