Tusla news, Oklahoma news.

A Tusla man was charged with two counts of first-degree murder over two fatal shootings of strangers that investigators believe were racially motivated.

Carlton Gilford, 35, is accused of killing two men that he did not even know on April 18.

The suspect approached the first victim, 35-year-old Lundin Hathcock, as he sat at a desk inside the Rudisill Library, police said.

After the first shooting, Gilford went to a QuikTrip where he shot 55-year-old James McDaniel in the back of the head killing him at the scene.

Authorities said that the suspect also shot at a security guard and a bystander outside the convenience store and waited for police to arrive.

Gilford allegedly confessed to shooting the victims who were complete strangers to him. Evidence suggests that the Black suspect targeted white men, Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler said.
