The NYPS is investigating the gruesome discovery of a severed human leg in a dumpster.
On Wednesday, at around 6:30 p.m., a passerby called 911 to report spotting a human leg sticking out of a red dumpster behind a TD Bank at 164th Street and Union Turnpike in Hillcrest.

Witnesses said that the mutilated leg was infested with maggots. It had since been handed over to the coroner’s office for autopsy.
Little information was immediately available about the victim; detectives were reviewing surveillance footage from the area in the hopes of identifying a suspect.
