Several students hospitalized after school bus crash in Houston

Multiple students and two adults were rushed to hospital Wednesday after a school bus crashed landing on its side.

The Houston Fire Department revealed that a total of ten children and two adults were hospitalized for bumps, bruises, and other minor wounds.

The crash occurred at around 7:30 a.m. on Berkley Street near the South Loop East exit ramp which sees a lot of accidents due to people sharply turning and speeding on the feeder road.

Investigators said that the Houston ISD bus collided with a small black sedan before flipping on its side.

  • “Bus route 2102 was involved in an accident on the way to school this morning,” the Houston ISD said in a statement. “It was transporting ten students to High School Ahead.”

    “All ten students and the driver were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and observation out of an abundance of caution.”

    “At this time, we have no reports of serious injuries. Division leadership is present at the hospitals.”

    “Our primary concern is for the health and safety of students and staff, and we will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.”
