A female migrant was found dead near the U.S.–Mexico border at the Otay Mesa Port of Entry in San Diego Friday afternoon.
The woman died after falling while trying to climb the 30-foot fence, officials said. No information about her identity was released.

“People more and more are facing traumatic life-altering injuries when they fall, and they injure themselves, or death as the case of this woman,” immigration volunteer organizer Pedro Rios said.
