Former President Donald Trump revealed in a new interview with Megyn Kelly that he believes his wife Melania was a “very popular First Lady” and that the “mystery” surrounding her added to her “beauty.”
“I think part of the beauty is that mystery,” he said. “She doesn’t need to be out there [to get interviewed]. She had confidence. She has confidence. She had a lot of self-confidence.”
Since leaving Washington DC, Melania was rarely spotted in public, not even when he announced his bid to run for President for a third time.
“She was a very popular first lady,” Trump said in the interview aired Thursday.
“I mean, I go out to rallies, and they have pictures of Melania [and say], ‘We love our first lady.’ So many posters were there in the audience…We had the biggest rallies we’ve ever had.”
