An Oklahoma man was arrested last week after he was allegedly caught on surveillance footage abusing a pet to death while working at a dog grooming business.
Diego Jaimes Angel, 41, was charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly beat and hung a 4-year-old goldendoodle Atlas on September 1.
A co-worker at Doggy Doodles Grooming alerted police and surveillance footage confirmed the allegations against Angel.
“Tulsa Animal Welfare was able to take possession of the deceased dog and transported the body to the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostics Laboratory in Stillwater for necropsy,” the Tulsa Police Department said.
“The investigation uncovered evidence related to the incident which showed mistreatment of the dog by the groomer, Diego Jaimes Angel.”
Elk City Police officers arrested Angel on September 8 after finding him at a dog show about 300 miles away from the grooming business.
Angel allegedly claimed that the dog suffered a seizure during the grooming session before it stopped breathing.
