Another prisoner died at the infamous Fulton County Jail last weekend marking the facility’s tenth fatality this year.
A jail official found 24-year-old Shawndre Delmore unresponsive inside his cell on August 31, officials said.
Lifesaving measures were provided at the scene before Delmore was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died Sunday.
Delmore has been in custody since his April arrest on burglary and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. An official cause of death is pending.
The Fulton County Jail made headlines last month after former President Donald Trump showed up at the troubled facility in connection to his racketeering indictment.
The jail is under a DOJ probe over reports of inmate abuse including the horrific death of LaShawn Thompson, a schizophrenia patient who passed in September 2022 after being “eaten alive by insects and bed bugs” inside his solitary cell.
