A 4-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries named her father as the attacker who killed her mother and wounded her in a brutal stabbing incident.
“Daddy had a knife,” the bleeding girl told officers after they found her with injuries to her vital organs next to her slain mother.
38-year-old Richard Fantauzzi-Aviles notified police at around 10 a.m. Wednesday about his wife’s murder.
“I feel like they made me take her life,” the man told officers at a Wilson Borough Police station, referring to his wife.
The suspect asked to be hospitalized handing over his house keys and the address to his home. There, officers discovered a bloody scene.
Fantauzzi-Aviles’ wife Shante Mason, 38, was found lying dead with multiple stab wounds. Her daughter was next to her, injured.
Police said that a large kitchen knife was discovered in the room. Mason’s sister-in-law also made a 911 call to report that her brother confessed to the killing.
“There’s a few times I wanted to call, make a report because there’s always yelling and fighting and banging on the walls,” a neighbor of the couple said.
