Shooting at Austin mall leaves 2 dead including gunman; one critical

A shooting at an Austin shopping mall left two people dead, including the suspected shooter, and one person critically wounded Thursday.

Gunfire erupted at The Arboretum in the 10000 block of Research Boulevard service road at around 5 p.m.

Two people, including the suspect, were fatally shot and pronounced dead at the scene at 5:20 p.m. Three victims suffered injuries including one in critical state.

    “It’s terrifying. My dad lives in this area. I live in this area. My son goes to school in this area,” a witness said.

    “It’s just scary to know that we are just a couple of businesses away from where this happened.
