A Virginia mother who went missing a week ago leaving her infant son unattended was found dead in woods and authorities have charged her 21-year-old husband with murder.
On Tuesday, the body of 20-year-old Avriel Hooks was located in a wooded area of Amherst hours after detectives questioned Michael L. Perry in connection with her disappearance.
Hooks was reported missing by her family on August 23, the same day her mother received a suspicious text from her saying that she was at a friend’s home for some “me time.”
“She would never let that baby out of her sight at all,” Avriel’s sister said of her 5-month-old nephew.
“She would hold that baby, she held that baby constantly. He had the stuff he needed, that’s all that mattered to her. She could care less about herself.”
