Authorities identify body found wrapped in plastic in Alabama riverbank as missing Scottsboro man

Jackson County authorities identified a body found wrapped in plastic along an Alabama riverbank earlier this month as a missing Scottsboro man.

On August 18, at around 1 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a human body in black plastic near the South Sauty Creek Boat Ramp in Lake Guntersville.

“We got a call from a fisherman who noticed what he thought was a bag, it ended up being black plastic,” said Sheriff Rocky Harnen.

  • “It was rather large and he was concerned about it, so he contacted the sheriff’s office.”

    The sheriff’s office identified the body as 25-year-old Jamari Jajuan Moore. His death was ruled a homicide.
