Authorities in Texas announced Friday that a child migrant died while riding a bus to Chicago after becoming ill.
Illinois authorities confirmed the death of the child revealing that they were 3 years old; the death occurred in Marion County.
“Every loss of life is a tragedy,” reads a statement from the Texas Division of Emergency Management.

“Once the child presented with health concerns, the bus pulled over and security personnel on board called 911 for emergency attention.”
The agency added that the bus carrying the child departed from the Texas border city of Brownsville.
Before the bus trip, the passengers were asked whether they had any medical conditions and had their temperatures taken.
