Boy, 14, deceived into smuggling illegal immigrants leads troopers on high-speed chase near Texas border

Authorities in Texas have arrested a 14-year-old boy on human smuggling charges after he was caught carrying four illegal immigrants near the US-Mexico border on Sunday.

The juvenile suspect led law enforcement on a high-speed chase on U.S. 83 in Webb County after allowing the passengers out of the truck into bushes.

Authorities said that the four immigrants were eventually arrested and transferred to border patrol agents.

  • After the drop-off, the teen continued his escape attempt leading officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Ohio State Police to intervene.

    He was ultimately surrounded by law enforcement and forced into a narrow road. The suspect was handcuffed and arrested without further incidents.

    The DPS revealed that the teen was deceived into human smuggling on social media.
