Wife of former college football star arrested in Bahamas; accused of plotting to murder him

The wife of a former Auburn University football player was arrested in The Bahamas for allegedly plotting to kill her husband with the help of two men.

Lindsay Shiver, 36, stands accused of conspiracy to murder 38-year-old Robert Shiver along with 28-year-old Terrance Bethel, her alleged Bahamian lover, and hitman Farron Newbold, 29.

    According to sources, Robert recently discovered his wife's infidelity and filed for divorce. The couple, who shares three kids, appeared in a Thomas County Superior Court on July 20 and filed counterclaims against each other.

    None of the three suspects had entered a plea during their Friday arraignment. Their next court appearance is set for October 5.
