The death of a 2-year-old Wisconsin boy is being investigated as a tragic accident after he was found tangled in the pull cord of bedroom blinds last week.
The Brown County Medical Examiner's Office determined that the boy died from asphyxiation on Thursday when he was found unconscious and not breathing at a home on the 600 block of Irwin Avenue in Green Bay.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, authorities reminded parents and caregivers of the risks of dangling cords in the presence of young children.
More than 200 similar incidents were reported since 2009 in the US with 48 percent of the occurrences ending in death.
