Minnetonka news, Minnesota news.

A Minnesota man was arrested this week over the fatal assault on his elderly father inside their Minnetonka residence.

A neighbor found 72-year-old Frederick Schech dead in the kitchen of the second-floor apartment he shared with his 39-year-old son Jacob Schech.

The victim's wife had called the neighbor multiple times late Wednesday asking her to check on the pair because they weren't answering their phones.

Police learned from the neighbor who lives downstairs that she had last saw Jacob drinking and giving his dad “a hard time” as the older man worked on the pool.

Jacob told the neighbor that his father “needed to die” adding that he “was going to give him crab legs, and then, you know, he just needs to die. And mom knows he needs to die, and I would have just let mom handle it.”
