Missing Minnesota man found dead in retention pond after tipster reported 'suspicious noise'

A missing Byron man was found dead in a retention pond days after he mysteriously vanished, police said.

Wade Gordon Jr., 39, was last spotted leaving his job at Ornua Ingredients on July 7 at around 2 a.m.

The man left his car parked outside the business but with no personal belongings inside it.

  • His partner reported him missing the following day telling cops that it was “unlike him” to disappear without notifying his family.

    Deputies with the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said that a tipster called them to report hearing a noise in the pond several days ago.

    After searching the pond on Monday, they found Gordon Jr.'s body. His cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.

    Investigators said that this time, they were not sure whether foul play is involved in the case.
