Arrest made in Alabama after 2 women found shot to death & burned in separate incidents: 'He can't hurt anybody else'

Alabama authorities said Friday that a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the deaths of two women found shot to death and burned in separate incidents.

Demarchies Mincey was in police custody since a June 22 arrest on child cruelty and assault charges.

He was first named as a suspect in the murder of Jermiera Fowler, 31, whose body was found in flames early last month after she left for a Facebook Marketplace purchase.

  • “Jermiera was an entrepreneur and a motivational speaker, inspiring others to follow their dreams and live life to the fullest,” her obituary read.

    The second victim was identified as Ariel Jones, also 31. her shot and burned body was discovered inside an abandoned vehicle on April 18.

    “I feel relieved that he's off the streets, where he can't hurt nobody else,” Jones' mother said of the suspect.

    “I'm trying to prepare myself now to see him in court. I won't really have the peace I need until I see him, and he sees my face, and I let him know what he took from us.”
