An Arizona family is dealing with a tragedy after a mother inadvertently ran over her 1-year-old daughter, police in Yavapai County said.
The devastated woman called 911 on Thursday to report that “she had run over her 13-month-old baby with her car.”
Police said that the mother had placed the toddler, identified as Cyra Rose Thoeming, in her car seat and went to move the vehicle.
“While repositioning the vehicle, the front tire caught the canopy of the car seat, causing it to fall backward which led to the infant suffering critical injuries,” authorities said.
Since the tot's passing, no charges have been filed in connection to the incident.
But Cyra's family was left to mourn her sudden and sad end; her uncle remembered her as “a light in the world who brought smiles to everyone she met.”
“In her short, beautiful life, she loved being outside, nature, playing with her family, animals, and the water,” a GoFundMe page read.
“There isn't anyone who didn't smile their biggest after spending just a moment with her.”
