Austin news, Texas news.

On Tuesday, the remains of a man were pulled from Lady Bird Lake, the fifth body to be recovered from the Austin lake this year.

Police identified the latest victim as Mogga Dogale. They said that his death is not being probed as a homicide.

Since January, five men have been discovered dead in Lady Bird Lake. Most of the victims had spent their last nights out on the busy Rainey Street.

“The amount of people who have been found dead is huge,” the woman said. “We now have police patrols on the street pretty regularly.”

“It's an odd place for people to go, too. I find it hard to see how people could leave Rainey and end up at the lake. You have to walk blocks to get there.”
