Serial killer concerns grow after 4th body recovered from Texas lake: 'We have absolutely no answers'

Authorities in Austin, Texas have recovered a fourth deceased man's body from a local lake Saturday adding to residents' fears of a serial killer possibly roaming free.

The body of 30-year-old John Christopher Hays-Clark was found floating in Austin's Lady Bird Lake at around 1:30 p.m. He was the fourth person to die in similar conditions this year.

Jason John, 30, was found dead in the lake in February. Then one month later, another man who has yet to be identified. And in April, 33-year-old Johnathan Honey was found there one day after his disappearance.

  • Police said that the men died from a “combination of alcohol and easy access to Lady Bird Lake” and had no signs of trauma.

    But residents and community members feel that something suspicious surrounds the fatalities.

    “There are too many people that have gone missing,” one said. “There are too many people that have been injured. There are too many people that can walk off, and we still have absolutely no answers as to what has happened to any of those folks.”
