Worker dies of electrocution while fixing hot tub at Phoenix fitness center

An Arizona man is dead after he was electrocuted while repairing a hot tub at a Phoenix fitness center on Wednesday.

The worker was found dead inside a hot tub at a Life Time athletic club. Investigators said that the tub was almost drained of water but had exposed live electrical wires.

  • The power was shut off to the entire building in order for first responders to reach the man safely; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Life Time Fitness was closed for the day as investigators processed the scene. In a statement, the business confirmed that the decedent was a professional contractor and that he died while doing maintenance work at the center.

    “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the family,” the company said in a statement.
