Nash authorities said that a teen is behind bars facing several murder counts after he allegedly killed four family members early Tuesday.
18-year-old Cesar Olalde surrendered following a standoff with multiple law enforcement agencies including the Bowie County Sheriff's Office, the Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Rangers.
Officers with the Nash Police Department responded to a home at 563 Lemon Acres shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call reporting several fatalities.
“Witnesses on the scene made officers aware of an individual armed and barricaded inside the residence,” the department said in a statement.
Olalde turned himself in following the intervention of a sheriff's office negotiator. Inside the home, officers found four deceased people.
The identities of the victims and their manner of death remain unclear but investigators said that the suspect and victims were related.
According to a neighbor, the residents of the house were hard workers.
“They're all nice people. No problems, a quiet neighborhood,” he said.
