The lifeless body of a New Jersey woman who went missing on Mother's Day was found along a road in Bayonne, near her abusive boyfriend's home, authorities said.
32-year-old Norelis Mendoza's body was discovered off Route 440 near Jersey City on Wednesday.
Authorities identified the body as that of the missing mom of two toddlers.
Since she went missing, relatives of Mendoza asked for the public's help in locating her and shared information that she had been a victim of domestic violence.
The family believed that Mendoza's disappearance may have a connection with the father of her children who had been issued a restraining order.
Mendoza's body was found near the unidentified man's residence. A cause and manner of death are pending the results of the coroner's office.
Hudson County investigators and the Jersey City Police Department are probing the death.
