Hours after his long-awaited retirement, a North Dakota mail carrier was killed in a tragic car crash late last month.

Ken Anderson was planning for his first summer in retirement on April 21, his last day of work when he lost control of his jeep and drove into a ditch.

The mail carrier sustained fatal wounds but still managed to call 911 and say “Help me.”
