Crowley County news, Colorado news.

A Colorado couple was arrested and charged after detectives found their young children living in inhumane conditions with the remains of their baby sibling.

Jason and Joy Soltani were charged on April 24 with negligent homicide, manslaughter, and child abuse resulting in death over the extreme negligence of their kids that resulted in an infant's demise.

Officers searched the couple's Ordway home in August 2022 and found out that a total of ten people, including six young children and a teen, lived in “filthy” conditions with feces and trash covering the floor and walls.

“Parents would not accept the child's death and claimed they were going to pray and have [the child] resurrected and initially refused to give custody of the child to the coroner for autopsy.”

Prosecutors alleged that the parents were unable to provide a birth or death date for the baby. Their other children were only fed twice a day and slept on “piles of dirty clothes and dirty car seats.”
