Young men killed in crash involving stolen Hyundai may have been trying TikTok challenge

Authorities in California are probing whether a viral TikTok challenge had any involvement in a fatal crash that killed two young men earlier this week.

Lodi Police said that Jess Bradford Jr., 21, and Michael Wyrick, 16, were killed when their stolen Hyundai crashed into a fence and then into a tree at Peterson Park.

  • The crash occurred after a high-speed chase with police; the two victims were part of a group of thieves who stole the Hyundai and a Kia through the “Kia Challenge” using a USB drive.

    The drivers of the Kia remain at large, authorities said.

    “Like all my stuff, I'm just like...I have no idea where it is. It's crazy,” the owner of the stolen Kia said.
