Maryland boy, 4, recovered from pond hours after he went missing from front porch

An Oakland, Maryland boy was found dead in a pond hours after he was last seen alive on the front porch of his family home, Maryland State Police.

Fox Piper's body was located in the pond near his home at about p.m. on Thursday. He was last seen by relatives at about 6:30 p.m.

  • The 4-year-old was found by members of the Deep Creek Fire Department Dive Team following a multi-agency response to his Temperance Way residence.

    The search for Piper involved the Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack, Criminal Enforcement Division Western Region, K-9 Unit, the Aviation Command, and the Maryland Natural Resources Police.

    The death remains under an ongoing investigation.
