Houston news, Texas news.

An innocent man was shot and killed late last month while trying to stop a murder suspect from robbing a smoke and vape business in Houston, police said.

43-year-old Joel Villarreal was found bleeding on the street on March 28 after he was shot by 20-year-old Daniel Medrano and his accomplice Andres Lara from robbing the business.

Medrano was out on bond and facing murder charges over the death of 20-year-old Jordan Capuchino at the time of the recent slaying.

“When the judge handed Daniel a bond of $400,000, I said, 'Hopefully he doesn't make that bond,” the woman said.

“I want the judge to know, these kids need to be held accountable. He does not need to be out in the street.”
