Texas man falls to his death after climbing atop 18-wheeler on I-35

A Texas man is dead after he fell from the roof of an 18-wheeler on I-35 in Temple, authorities said.

The incident occurred late Thursday, at around 9:10 p.m., when the man was spotted running through traffic near the 5200 block of I-35 south.

Police said that the unidentified man was then seen attempting to break into several parked vehicles before he climbed atop the big rig.

  • “After attempting to open different vehicle doors, the victim climbed atop an 18-wheeler and fell to the ground,” the Temple Police Department said.

    Officers pronounced the man dead at the scene after he fell and sustained severe injuries.

    The tragic accident shut down southbound I-35 for several hours as police processed the scene.
